Hopkins Family Heart Network The Hopkins Family Heart Network was established by a group of parents (with assistance from the Division of Pediatric Cardiology) for the purpose of providing support and educational resources for patients and families who receive services at Johns Hopkins Division of Pediatric Cardiology. Still in its developing stages, the networks activities include the Annual Heart Party, educational seminars for families, and fundraising for various events as well as to support a family emergency services fund for families needs while their child is hospitalized.
The Annual Hopkins Heart Party is held every February during American Heart Month and is truly a celebration of the lives of these special children! This event provides an afternoon of fun for everyone face painting, crafts, entertainment, resource tables with information about heart disease/defects and related disorders, and of course - plenty of food. During the party, the children also have the opportunity to make valentines for children who are hospitalized, and the families have a chance to meet each other and often reunite with each other while gaining support from each other. The party is made possible through very generous donations from various businesses and organizations. February 6, 2005 is the tentative date for the Fifth Annual Hopkins Heart Party!
